there's something bout the way the street looks when it's just rained...

As I sit on my couch with a cat curled up on my lap, staring at a room of packed boxes and empty walls, I realize how crazy the last year has been. A year ago I was just coming off the high from the most amazing and rewarding summer I had ever spent, wondering how life could possibly provide me with anything better. Today I realize that although not every job and experience will be full of songs, costumes, dirty feet, guitars, and friendships, they all serve their own purpose. The last year has shown me that although the 'real world' isn't as much fun as the other one, it's got it's perks. In the past year I've been able to support myself for the first time ever, buy a new car, move in with my best friend, adopt an adorable, playful kitten, and learn quite a bit about submarines. It's a far leap from sitting in the room I grew up in, studying for an exam, and catching up on old episodes of LOST. Looking at packed boxes and empty spaces, I'm excited for what our new apartment will have to offer us, and what new experiences and adventures are yet to come.
